R-12 to R134a retrofit Oil ammount

LS6Fever on Sun July 20, 2014 1:41 PM User is offline

Year: 91
Make:
Engine Size: 5.7

This is on a 91 Buick roadmaster being converted to r-134a.The a/c system has all new parts, hoses etc.. Except 1 metal line that will be flushed. The mineral oil amount for an r12 system is 6oz for 91-93 models. The amount for 94-97 models that originally come with r134a is 8oz of 150 pag oil.

So should I use 6 or 8 ounces of oil? Thanks

This chart shows 8 oz. not 6 oz for any Buick unless it's a Roadmaster.

the chart shows 6 oz for the roadmaster I would use original specs unless you modified the system to match a newer model but its only 2 oz so probably work fine with either.
they was phasing out the r4 compressor so the compressor was different on most 94-97 and there was probably other differences.
