Cars been sitting, lost all my R134a...

Year: 1981
Make: Buick
Model: Regal
Engine Size: 3.8
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Country of Origin: United States

Haven't used the car in well over a year since I stored it. Never bothered to check the A/C system until now that I am putting it back into service. I'm thinking about using nitrogen to locate the leak but I don't have any experience in using it. Does the the A/C system need to be on when I charge it up with nitrogen? Or can I do it without turning on the system?

No!

Only use nitrogen to pressurize the system. Do not operate it at any time with nitrogen in the system
