Year: 1989
Make: Chev
Model: Corvette
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: R12
I just received my manifold gauge set: Mastercool #98661-Pro. The high side hose fitting is too large for the vehicle fitting. Any ideas on what to do with this?
Thanks
Joel
If you are trying to connect the (R-12) 1/4 flare and it is too large, then you have a 3/16 flare and will need an adapter.

Sounds like you need the 3/16th adapter.

Is this what I need? #90358
Thanks

Let me try this again. I've tried to link the info on the adaptor, but can't seem to get to work.
The adaptor info says "R12 High Side Adapter 1/4" X 3/16 FFL.
Part # 90358
Can anyone tell me if this is what I need in order to connect my high side hose to the high side fitting.
Thanks
Joel
Yes, that's the correct adapter.
Very late in the R-12 era, GM cars (probably not your 1989) require the "GM deep throat" adapter. If the valve pin is nearly flush with the top of the flare like it is on the low side, use the regular adapter. If the valve is recessed in the port you need the deep throat adapter.
