Need to replace the valve core on the low side. The port is on the Accumulator. I think the core is the JRA but not sure.
I picked up a repair kit at O'Reilly Auto Parts , that has 2 - 3 Shrader valves , w removal tool and high & low pressure service port cap .
$ 5 - $ 10 , IIRC .

I seen that kit. Not sure if it has the right size core though.
If it helps It uses the Large bore end on my core tool. The service cap is 9mm.
On my 1991 Caprice 5.0L , the tool that came with the kit fits the shrader valve in the low side port on the new accumulator .
The " top " of the shrader valve , in the high side port is larger than the hole in the end of the tool & will not fit .
Open to suggestions for a tool that will fit the high side shrader valve ?
God bless

Sounds like you need a large bore valve tool. I think the part number is Mastercool 81290 or 91290 can't remember.
What valve core on a 97 anything that came with a quick coupler neoprene disk that never seems to seat properly. Scharder valve cores were once a luxury taken away.
Cheapest thing you can do is to try to find a decent new cap, put a couple of drops of Nylog in it and pray it doesn't leak. These EPA changes that are suppose to prevent leakage are unbelievable. Or just change the entire valve assembly that may also require replacing the line with it.
Nick, It does actually have a Schrader valve not the little black button in the port. I tried tightening it up but it wasn't loose.
