Future A/C tech needing help in tool selection...

Refrigerant Type: R134a
Country of Origin: United States

Well I just bought a Stinger 2006-3800 recovery unit and I have a question about the inline filter. Stinger has their own suggested filter which is very difficult to find and does not come with the unit. My question is if any inline filter designed for recovery can do the task, (for now I'm strickly focusing on R134a but I am looking into expanding once I complete some training for residential work). Also, can I get some suggestions on good compatible inline filters that can do both automotive and residential.

There are many recovery in-line pre-filter kits offered that should work with your unit. These filters protect the machine and the system from potential particulate debris that can come from the virgin charging cylinder. Most of these filters will handle multiple refrigerants, but it will be up to you to determine if it is suitable for the refrigerants you intend to work with.
