Year: 1999
Make: Dodge
Model: Durango
Engine Size: 5.7
Refrigerant Type: 134
Country of Origin: United States
After reading up on previous posts for Durango, reaffirmed my suspicions basic a\c design for this vehicle is crapola, a rushed into production disaster. Anyway-- rear a\c blows nice and cold. Did not bother with pressure readings because pipes quickly got hot, cold and blew out cold at rear unit. Front a\c is stuck in defrost mode only, cannot be switched around to different settings, blows warm out the defrost ducts only. When I dial in hotter or colder with the temp control, it gets hotter on full heat and back to warm on coldest setting. Looks like a combo of blend door, front h-block stuck, etc. Where to begin?? Thanks for any help, as always!

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
Thanks, GM Tech--Very informative site-These guys really have something different!
