Hi Guys , just joined...
I love my Fto i had it 6 years now with no real problems and every time i drive it it just ooozes a thing of beauty .
I have however recently been trying to get the air con fixed as it is the only thing that has never really worked properly on the car.
I had it re gassed today but i can only feel cool ac air coming through the vents when the engines revving above around 3500 rpm
The fan is coming on and i can hear and feel the clutch cutting in when i switch the air con button on on the dash.
Any ideas guys? im really struggling here and desperatly want it working...spent 15 hours on it over the weekend sprucing it up and i think it really deserves to have this fixed..i just need some help !!!
cheers guys

Andy

Andy - if a shop did this, take it back, they didn't fix it correctly.

If you did this yourself: did you evacuate the system, the system held vacuum, and what are the low and high side pressures at about 1500 rpm?

Thanks for the reply...i had a shop do it , are you sure they havent done it right then? I wasnt sure wether it could be an issue with the compressor as it only gets cold at higher rpm.

When it does get cold its at around 12 degrees and i was told it should be around 8

cheers

It probably has a scroll compressor, when worn out they don't work at idle but may still do a little at higher rpm. Operating pressures would have to be measured to confirm that.

On the other hand if it's a matter of whether the car is moving or not instead of purely rpm, the condenser fans may not be working.
