About a couple of weeks after installing all new A/C in this truck, a very strange humming/whining noise began emminating from the rear A/C lines. The noise seems to come from the rear A/C lines just aft of the back seat. It is quite loud & annoying; barely tolerable. It comes & goes, & it will remain for a few seconds after shutting the A/C off.
I have not been satisfied with the vent temps of this system from the moment I finished it. The details of that are outlined in this post: http://www.autoacforum.com/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=23629
Am I correct to assume that I have a problem with the rear expansion valve? Also, am I correct to assume that the root cause of the noise is associated with the root cause of the poor system performance? I've searched the archives & even asked "Professor Google," but I have not been able to find any instance of a similar noise.
Should I not be able to nail down the root cause of the noise, can anyone refer me to a top-notch A/C shop in the Houston area? I'm kinda short on time; so I'm thinking about punting on this one.
