Suburban Rear AC Line

u118224 on Wed May 30, 2012 3:35 PM User is offline

Year: 2004
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Suburban 1500
Engine Size: 5.3
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Country of Origin: United States

I have to replace the the rear suction line on my Suburban, it leaks at the crimp where it transitions from hard line to rubber line under the front passenger wheelwell. Before I buy a replacement line, does anyone know of a method of repairing this?

If it's not repairable, would it make sense to have a rubber line made with the correct connectors instead of using an OEM replacement?

Has anyone replaced an rear OEM suction line on a GMT800? The pressure line sits in from of the suction line; can I do the job without disconnecting the pressure line?

Thank you!

How much does a brand-new line cost?

I know board sponsor AMA can repair hoses, might be $50 or so, just guessing. I had a high-pressure crimp repaired on my '88 Mazda truck; a new/different type of hose barb was welded on, and a new crimp made, still not leaking there after 9 years.
