Year: 1973
Make: BMW
Model: Bavaria
Engine Size: 3.5
Refrigerant Type: R134
Country of Origin: United States

Hello.

I own a 1973 BMW Bavaria with the original AC unit. however i have converted it over to R134 from R12 using new hoses, Dryer, Compressor condenser & a Trinary Switch.
unfortunately, the import installed air conditioning unit doesnt blow too well and the controls are very sloppy.

Rather than buy a www.vintageair.com kit, i was hoping someone could point me in the direction of an OEM AC unit from a modern auto manufacturer.
what i am looking for is something with a very small evaporator unit that is servo controlled. i would be taking this and mounting that behind my dashboard and then use the Vintageair servo slider switches to control it. it has to be able to run without the factory computer.

can someone give me some suggestions of a year make model of japanese, korean, etc car that has such an ac unit.

how about a suggestion or a debate? are small car evap boxes smaller when in a smaller car or are they essentially the same size.
is one manufacturer (kia, toyota, nissan) make a smaller box than the other?
I really don't want to walk around junkyards for a day with a tape measure.

thanks
