abbouddi on Wed May 23, 2012 5:54 AM User is offline

Year: 2007
Make: Mazda
Model: 6
Engine Size: 2000
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 80
Pressure Low: 25
Pressure High: 220
Country of Origin: Saudi Arabia

I went to buy refrigerant 134a for my car, dealer informed that prices increased, and there is a refrigerant replacement for 134a called 415b.
I have doubt to buy it. is 415b really a replacement for 134a?? if yes it will not have any bad effect?

This is an old potential replacement for R-12 which didn't work out very well. It contains R-22 (an HCFC) which is certainly unsuitable for your car because it is chlorine-based, which will react with the PAG oil in a factory R-134a system. R-22 blends were also a problem in cars because R-22 is a small molecule that can seep out through intact rubber hoses.

So, don't use anything other than straight R-134a in factory R-134a cars.
