Compressor does not cycle off

73Wagoneer on Mon April 30, 2012 2:32 PM User is offline

Year: 92
Make: Ford
Model: Van
Engine Size: 5.0
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Ambient Temp: 90
Pressure Low: 37
Pressure High: 250
Country of Origin: United States

Im working on my friends conversion van, it has the aux unit in the back, someone else did the 134a conversion, when he brought it to me it had low refrigerant, I recovered, and then pulled a vucuum, let my mastercool pump run for about 45min, held vacuum for over an hour.

Sticker on hood says, 4.75lbs of R12 with aux unit, so after doing some math I put about 45oz in roughly 60%, the vent temps in the front are 45 rear vents are only 60, also compressor is not cycling off, it remains on. Do I need to add more refridgerant?

I was going to but wanted to consult with the experts on here

You might need a little more refrigerant. Trail and error with conversions.
