Need advise. AC machine with Recycle Guard?

Metal Man on Sat April 14, 2012 10:45 AM User is offline

Hello guys.

The small shop i work for has a new ( on the way) EEAC324B Snap-on Eco Plus A/C Recycle machine. Do we need to use a Recycle Guard filter with it to prevent sealer damage?

I thought we needed one till i was looking in a snap-on catalog. In the back of the catalog they have a recycle guard filter for sale. Its been re-badged as a Blue point sealant, dye filter ACTFILTERPL. But you can clearly see its a Recycle Guard. Under neath the description of the filter its says not required or recommended for EEAC324B recyclers. Which is the one we have on the way.

Now i'm confused.Anyone have experience with theses? We do not want to ruin our new machine.

We use the Neutronics Gas Analyzer & Quick Detect. . Only sealer I'm worried about is the type that hardens. Making sure I reclaiming the correct refrigerant is something I pay attention to also.

I'm guessing that the Snap-on machine has one already mounted inside. You don't need two at once.

I sent a message to snap-on yesterday. Maybe they will reply with a reasonable answer.
