I was considering using ester oil on an R12 system that is getting a compressor replacement. I have a supply of R12 but may convert to R134a in the future. IS there any great drawback on running R12 with ester oil instead of mineral oil? It would simplify things for a future R134a conversion.

We have used the BVA Ester with R12 for years.
