Where to get A/C Lines Rebuilt\Restored for Classic Car?

shanker on Fri October 07, 2011 3:06 PM User is offline

Year: 1970
Make: Dodge
Model: Coronet R/T
Engine Size: 440/Auto
Refrigerant Type: R-12

I've got a 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T that I'm in the process of getting the A/C working in. So far I've done the following:

NEW Condenser
NEW Drier
NEW Expansion Valve
RESTORED Heater Control Valve
NEW A/C Wiring Harness
NEW Vacuum Pod for A/C Controls

Where I'm stuck is on the lines...The system was an R-12 System, and as of right now I plan on going back with R-12. Being that I'm dealing with such old stuff, and I want everything to be new and/or refurbished, I want to do something about the lines that are not all hard lines. Ideally I'de like new ends and rubber to be put onto my old lines. Classic Auto Air in florida is the only company I know of that does this. Are there any alternatives? Below is a picture of the lines I'm talking about.

I couldn't find anything on their site about if they use OEM crimping methods and what type of plating they do on the metal ends.

What's the OEM crimping method?

Identical to the above (except for that one suction line)...I know that nobody does any with the correct P/N's, but having the metal replated (cadmium or yellow zinc) and new barrier hoses is really what I'm after.

Classic Auto Air charges a FORTUNE...

We can replace all the rubber sections. The smaller fittings are also replaced. Manifolds are cleaned, painted and reused.

Hose rebuild on an average runs about $30-40.00 each hose. Like TRB states that we will clean and repaint.
