Correct Pressures? - Nippondesno 10PA15C

scusack71 on Sun August 28, 2011 2:03 PM User is offline

Year: 98
Make: Dodge
Model: Intrepid
Engine Size: 3.2L
Refrigerant Type: R-134a
Ambient Temp: 80
Pressure Low: 50
Pressure High: 110
Country of Origin: United States

Charged the system and verified the proper amount of refrigerant (1lb-9oz according to vehicle placard, but I put 1lb-10oz just to make up for any gas not included from the service gauges to service ports on a/c system). Here's my numbers:

Condenser Discharge Temp: 105-degF
Pressures: 32 / 155
Vent Temp: 53-degF

Here's what I'm unsure about is the Service Manual Pressure Chart: 170-210 PSI @ 105-degF and manual says to add 2oz of R-134a at a time to achieve this pressure since it is undercharged at this pressure.

On the other hand, Mastercool Pressure Table: 135 PSI at 105-degF, which would assume my pressure is a bit high at 155 PSI with my present charge.

Any tips, ideas or suggestions? ...or leave it alone as is?

Thanks!

Thank you TRB. So you're saying that I should service it to 28oz (as recorded in the service manual and not the placard at 1.56lbs ~ 25oz) and should expect a pressure of 30/225 at 105-degF (at the condenser outlet)? Does it seem I'll get the extra 70 PSI needed to reach 225 PSI if I add 2oz more (I put in 26oz already)? I hope I'm understanding correctly?? sorry this is my first time putting this system together myself and having one actually cool... but I want to make sure I'm not making any mistakes.

Thank you

I tried to upload a few images to post with my reply but I'm not sure how to pull them back off the server and past them into my reply. Unless... the images I uploaded were not going where I thought (they loaded but don't know where they went)? I used "upload image". I just want to send a reply and paste my images into the reply like you would with a Word document... does this work that way? Thank you for your patience

After you upload it showed a link you need to copy and past each link. You can upload more than once if needed.
