The compressor clutch started making a loud chattering noise yesterday and doesn't lock up enough to actually spin the compressor. Can just the clutch be changed on this or is it better to just replace with a new compressor?
Can you turn the compressor by hand? If it does turn OK, clutch chattering on and off could be an electrical problem.
Also I thought some recent threads about the Sienna mentioned what a lemon that compressor model has been. So if compressor does not turn by hand, that's where you are.
I hear a click when clutch tries to engage, but compressor doesn't turn. It acts like the clutch just won't lock up up make the compressor turn.
