Type of Desiccant

I am wanting to change out the desiccant bag in my AC recovery/charge station's oil bowl. It's an old Snap-On unit. The Master Kit is available; it includes the desiccant and the master filter/drier. I found the filter at another vender for a cheaper price and I was hoping I could also find a cheaper desiccant bag.

On a recover station, or an auto AC system, does anybody know what kind of desiccant is used? I noticed in my search that there are a few different types of desiccant, like bentonite clay and silica gel. Not sure if it matters what type to get but would like it to be the proper kind.
