need to flush

Year: 2002
Make: Mercury
Model: Grand Maquas
Engine Size: 4.6 V8
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 80
Pressure Low: 45
Pressure High: 245
Country of Origin: United States

My AC relay stuck and I drove about 100 mi with the AC off. I did not know the compressor was engaged, when I slowed down I heard a loud whine coming from the compressor. Changed the relay and sys worked ok, but still had a loud whine, System cooled ok. A week later on the road again AC stopped working, I though it had froze up or something. I shut it off and them tried it later and it stated working. When I got home I found the clutch was shot and had been slipping. I have bought a new compressor, acculator, and cutout switch and a new orifice tube. The system still cools and seems to be functioning ok. (the clutch works but bearing is shot). My question is how much flushing do I need to do. Can I just blow the oil out and recharge or should I do a component by component flush?

I suggest a proper flush should be considered. Hecat's tech paper will cover this procedure.
