If this system was working properly on a 105 degree day (according to the digital read out inside the vehicle) with max ac recirc , what would be an acceptable temp coming from the vents?

Mrs. Cusser's 2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali has AC that comes in nice and cold, even in Arizona summer (yesterday was 113F in the shade - but no shade anywhere). Remember, temperature 3 feet above the street is much more than that 105F you state.
All vehicles will take significantly longer to cool if it's been parked ion the sun, that 105F makes the seats, dash, etc. about 140F !!!
GM gave themselves lots of room in the chart for that vehicle. If it has only front air:
96 to 105f ambient should be 66f to 72f at the "left center discharge vent" Those are maximum temps from 10 to 50% humidity
With rear A/C, same test 86f to 90f at the dash vent...
As long as it cools better than those numbers, the dealer will send it down the road. With rear A/C @ 120f ambient they say 97f vents are good...
