Does Ester oil absorb water?

Do you always have to use a new unopened bottle of Ester oil? What I mean is does it absorb moisture like brake fluid does? Would it hurt to use a bottle that has been open for a year to flush out a compressor? By open I mean with the seal broken, it still had the cap on it of course.

Yes, esters will absorb moisture. No, for the cost of a new bottle of lubricant...why take the chance. Spend the extra $$$ and purchase the new uncontaminated lubrican.

That's what I figured, I just wanted to ask. Maybe someone else will have this same question and this will help them out.

Thanks!
