Accumulator drier

Year: 2004
Make: Dodge
Model: Durango
Engine Size: 5.7
Refrigerant Type: 134a

I have been shopping around for a new accumulator drier for my 04 Durango and have seen prices from a low of $15 to as high as $85 (dealer). Why would such a simple device have such a huge price difference?

Depends on what you're getting. Some come with complete line or hose assemblies, pressure switches, and so forth, and some are just the basic accumulator.

Dealer parts are always pricey. You ever see what the cost of a windshield is at a dealer? Usually 3X more than what a glass shop charges. And if you think you'll get an OEM windshield if you bring you car to the dealership, you'll be disappointed when you see the rolling repair truck and then get the invoice with the price for the dealer part and labor on it.
