It looks like the rubber seal that is on the high pressure service port of the evaporator aluminum tube has some rubber trying to blow thru it and the valve itself isn't sealing now. A small leak can be felt by putting your finger over the top of the service port. Is this service port replaceable or does an entire new aluminum line going from the bottom of the evap core to the condenser need to be found? I was looking at the way the service port is mounted onto the aluminum tube and the base of the service port is hexagonal so a wrench could be put onto it and it looks like the service valve itself isn't actually a 1 piece unit welded to the line (looks more like the high pressure valve is screwed into the aluminum line itself. I was looking around and Murray has a replacement A/C Service Valve Part # 59946 that has an O-ring and a male threaded end onto it which looks like what is screwed onto the evap line. Would that be an applicable replacement valve or does the entire evap line need to be replaced? I couldn't imagine GM making that a non serviceable item but these days everything is meant to be replaced one way or another so I thought I would ask the experts on your thoughts on how to obtain or repair that high pressure service valve.
Any comments welcome

Just put a new cap with a good rubber element in it-- on the valve-- it will seal the leak since the cap is the primary seal anyway... If you don't believe it-- just use a sniffer- it will prove it seals.........

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
