No power to a/c clutch

LUCKYSTATTOOS on Wed June 22, 2011 4:56 PM User is offline

Year: 2000
Make: ford
Model: excursion
Engine Size: 6.8
Refrigerant Type: r134
Country of Origin: United States

I have no power at the a/c clutch. I do have power at both the high and low switches. I have jumped the low pressure switch and still nothing at the clutch. All fuses are good as also the relay. I traced the clutch wire all the way to the a/c diode and that circuit is good, where it goes from the a/c diode I do not know. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sheldon

Hope this may be useful:

Wide Open Throttle relay will cut the AC out when the engine requires maximum throttle (WAC). If this relay is defective, it can prevent the clutch from getting power.

Just by googling, it looks like it is either in the engine compartment fuse box, or in the 'battery junction box, under the hood, on driver's side near the firewall'

another says: "UNDER the power Distribution panel on Rt side fender under hood." but this is in reference to a Ranger. Sorry I can't give you a definite answer
