high side port on '94 Volvo 850

mhamilton on Sun June 05, 2011 5:29 PM User is offlineView users profile

Year: 1994
Make: Volvo
Model: 850
Refrigerant Type: R134a

Non turbo engine, found the low side port on the passenger side front frame rail. Can not find the high side port. Followed the line from the compressor to the condenser, from the condenser back to the evaporator. The only thing I found was a high pressure switch. Where has the factory hidden this one?

Thanks in advance,
-Michael

I dont believe that they bothered to fit one though they did fit a plug which can be removed and a temporary HP port fitted for diagnostic purposes...

Gotta love those crazy Swedes....

You're kidding?! So the high side switch has to be removed, and an adapter fit for the high port? And I thought the car was lousy because it rides and idles like a cement truck.

Thank you! At least I know I'm not missing anything obvious.
