Year: 1964
Make: chevy c10
Engine Size: 6 cyl

I have a 1964 Chevy c10. The motor is an inline 6 with about 160 HP. There are after market unit that bolt right in and look factory but they run about $1200. I'm on a budget. I can fab brakets and have a friend that can fab hoses and I'm not at all concerned with factory appearance. My question is, can I go to a junk yard and pull an ac unit out of a car and make it work? If so, what type of car should I be looking for? Thanks for any and all help.
