Hello all.

I want to know if there is alternative method to flushing an A/C system without the use of compressed shop air. I have every other tool needed for A/C work, but an air compressor . I want to flush out the leakstop that was used, so I can do all the necessary work. Thanks

Even with compressed air, I doubt you're going to be successful flushing out sealer, especially if the sealer already started doing its thing and has hardened. You need velocity when flushing, the more the merrier, and compressed air would be the bare minimum in lieu of a professional flushing machine.

You also need compressed air to blow out the flushing agent of choice, otherwise you'll end up diluting the compressor oil.

An air compressor is kind of a necessity if you're going to do auto work in general, but don't buy one for this job alone, because with sealer, the only solution likely is a total system replacement, including the evaporator. Sealer kills systems.

This one does not used compressed air. Or, you can use nitrogen, which is fairly inexpensive and available in high pressure tanks from a welding gas supply house. However, the required nitrogen regulator could cost as much as an inexpensive air compressor.

And of course that one would have the best chance of clearing whatever goo hardened in the system!
