2001 Silverado low pressure switch question

Year: 2001
Make: Chevy
Model: Silverado
Engine Size: 6 L
Refrigerant Type: r134a
Ambient Temp: 80

Hi,
I have a 2001 chevy silverado and I am thinking that the low pressure sensor is going bad on my accumulator. I have googled around and I think this is the low pressure sensor but not certain. I'm pretty sure it is going bad as if I put pressure on the sensor pushing it to the side for example, the compressor will kick on and stay on until I'm driving and hit a bump for example. 'm pretty sure it has good pressure as it will freeze me out if its running. Attached is a pic.

My question is, does this have a schraeder valve behind it, or do I need to discharge the whole thing?

Thanks,
j

Yes, the accumulator will have a valve core in the switch port.
