2006 Sienna A/C questions

jgcox6 on Tue April 05, 2011 9:32 AM User is offline

Year: 2006
Make: Toyota
Model: Sienna
Engine Size: 3.7l
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Country of Origin: United States

I have read about the A/C failures in 2004 -2005 toyotas and I have a few questions. Somewhere along the way....toyota figured out that they were having so many failures and they started putting a/c filters in line. Does anyone know what years they started that? If my 2006 has it or not...where would they put one of these filters? Is this something I can put in?

Is the failure of these yrs due to not enough oil in the system? Would it buy me some time to add some oil? If so how much? Do you guys have history of the toyota failures?

I do not see a TBS on this for a 2006.

Looked up the 2004-05 and seen nothing about a TSB on the compressor failure or a in-line filter as a add to the system for a precaution. Inline filters will only act as a filtering device and NOT prevent a compressor from failing.
