Does anyone make replacement caps for the high and low side connections. On my 98 Dakota they don't have o-rings in them, I'm the original owner and no one has ever been into it, so it came that way. After 12 years it looks like I've lost most of the freon and the cooling for the compressor.. Either the bearing went bad and took out the clutch or the other way around. It still has some pressure on it so maybe the compressor may still be useable, but I've got to get the clutch and bearing going before I can test it. I noticed that the low side valve is leaking real bad when I removed the cap and that may be where it leaked out.

I went to the local pull-a- part today to see if I could get a clutch coil, but the only one that was there was in a front end fire and it was cooked. Tim to you carry the coil and clutch?
New aftermarket compressor $ 180.00 and freight.

Go for the new compressor Tim is talking about, a new clutch assembly is much more than that... And yes, I have seen some Chrysler cars without the rubber seals in the caps, and when refrigerant leaks out slowly, the less oil migration back to the compressor, it overheats and burns the clutches out.. Happens so slow, you don't realize it until the damage is done...
