Looking for air conditioning system to control temperature inside a camper shell installed on a pick up truck bed
Why? You would have to do some serious insulating of the truck-bed and the shell. Very large area to heat/cool.

Cooling a much larger volume on my motorhome with a 14K BTU rooftop unit, cools pretty well, but at least its poorly insulated. Also has a bunch of large windows to let the outdoors come into the inside so you don't have to go outside when camping, that doesn't help with the cooling.
But it needs either an extension cord or have to run the generator, Logan doesn't specify his needs on this issue. It does have engine ran cab air as well, but not sure how you would fit that big stuff in a pick up truck. Maybe a shoe horn would work.
So are you interested in engine or extension cord AC? Seem to be losing my mind ready skills, hell getting old.
A camper and a camper-shell are two very-different animals. A shell just fits over/protects stuff in the truck-bed and you must drop the tail-gate to climb in. A camper you open the door and enter. WHICH are you talking about logan??

Really difficult to tell the difference between a truck cap and a camper shell, but either is intended for rain and blow proof storage. Know in my state, not allowed to ride back there, not air bags or safety belts. But people could sleep back there in like a camping ground that would be a reason to air condition it, no screens and if you left the tail gate down, would be eaten alive. Caps or camper shells are rarely higher than the cab of the pickup, but some have humps in the rear for hauling a washing machine, certainly not a refrigerator.
Those pickup campers seem to be getting rare around here, were very popular in the 70's with those rickety stands to hold them up in your back yard. You can't read minds either, Dave?
shell/cap...same thing in my view. He said shell....figured that is what he meant. Many a night I've spent in one of those. Never worried about conditioning the air in it....only the beer and it was in it's ice-chest.

Interior of truck bed has an existing kit installed, 2" polyurethane on double wall factory metal bed, 4" foam on bottom of bed, all covered with carpet. actual shell is fiberglass construction no insulation and one rear glass window. has the typical opening to cab, soild metal behind bench seat height then opening to cab lid. vehicle owner contacted me for solution(s) for flower arrangements delivery service. ( weddings, partys ect. ?? ) Do you know of a manufacturer building such a system ? + 4o to 46 F with good finned coil surface to retain the moisture and low velocity air delivery. hahaha... prototype build it myself ? (:

Plug-in or hard wire to vehicle 12V system.
Not funny ! It's the same group of guys from the 70's making todays products. the construction material changed from embossed aluminum glued to wood frames, to fiberglass for the slick rounded corners european look. ever been to the city of el monte in So CAL. or just tripping without luggage... hahaha (:
