I am ready to add oil and I was planning to add 8 oz of pag 150.
New compressor, condenser, accumulator, orifice tube.
I flushed the lines and evaporator.
2 oz to the inlet port of the compressor.
2 oz to the inlet port of the condenser.
2 oz to the inlet port of the accumulator.
2 oz to the inlet port of the evaporator.
Does this sound right?

Quality is never an accident it is always the result of intelligent effort.
You should put some in the compressor so it has lube when first started. The rest wherever you can fit it. Doesn't have to be a little in each unit.
Keep in mind that the only component that actually USES OIL is the compressor. The oil is circulated by the refrigerant. Even If you put 2 oz in the compressor and the other 6 oz upstream in the accumulator, after 30 seconds of operation the oil would be pretty evenly distributed though out the system.
I'd skip the evaporator because excess oil in it has a tendency to pool in it and never leave. Put 4 oz in the accumulator instead.
Add 3 oz to the suction port of the compressor...the larger port......stand compressor in it's drive plate for about 10 minutes. This allows for pre-lube of the shaft seal.
Add the remainder to the inlet of the accumulator...the system will balance itself. The accumulator is most important....it supplies the compressor with lube...none there and the compressor will die....esp if you are charging by hand.....

Got it back together and it puts out 50deg. in the vent. Cold enough to deserve a beer.
My next task is to find a scale and recovery set up. Found one at the pawn shop yesterday for $100.00 but I didn't get back to get it before it was gone.
I want to thank everyone for all the info on this site and everyone who answered all the questions.
