John Deere refrigerant oil

Herb on Fri August 06, 2010 3:58 PM User is offline

Year: 2002
Make: JD
Model: 325
Refrigerant Type: R134-A
Ambient Temp: 85
Pressure Low: 100
Pressure High: 100
Country of Origin: United States

Friend bringing in skid steer loader, compressor not engaging, went to dealer for specs, call for total system volume 7.85 oil , compressor pre-charge volume 7.43 oz of TY22025 John Deere refrigerant oil. I assume it has a compressor sump. I asked tech what viscosity it was, he gave me a dumb look and said "Oh, we use PAG oil", big help. And of course they had none for sale. Unable to google any information on it. Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance for your help. Herb

Oh, another thing, got printout on work procedure, says if removing or replacing hose to measure length of and use formula of 0.1 ounces of oil per foot. Is this the "rule of thumb" for RV's, tractors, etc., say if one were making a custom system? Thanks again.

Have you tried looking up the oil specifications based on the make/model of the compressor?
