Is "Ice 32" in ester oil any good?

BG1 on Sun August 01, 2010 3:47 PM User is offline

Year: 1976
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Engine Size: 455
Refrigerant Type: R134

The ester oil I just used does not mention UV DYE on the label and it looks like the new containers have UV DYE on the label so does it all have this in it? Also on another container of Ester oil it has "ICE 32" on the label and I want to know if this is something good to use or when to not use it?

Use the proper amount of oil and refrigerant, and forget the additives.. If you ask the people who make it, they will tell you it will fix everything from broken compressors to athletes foot.. But UV dye is a good thing, but only a little, go by the manufacturers directions on dye..

I need to buy another quart of the ester oil and the first one did not have UV dye listed on the label and the new container has it listed so do you think this would be a problem and that I should find a different brand? Thanks

I recommend BVA Auto 100 ester oil for retrofits, thats all I use, and it now comes with UV dye in it, locally you can buy other brands, but I can't speak for the quailty..but it's out there...
