Year: 91
Make: Chevy
Model: SV2
Engine Size: 5.7
Refrigerant Type: 134A
How much 134A does a 1991 Chevy Van with dual a/c take?
There is no exact amount when it comes to retrofitting, and you have dual air.. I'd start with about 70% of the R12 charge and work your way up slowly.. Add a couple ounces at a time, wait for the system to stabilize, then add more while watching your high side pressures, feeling the inlet of the evap (after the O tube) and the outlet (Suction).. Once they are the same cold temp, you will be done, the outlet should be "slightly" colder take your time, don't rush.. Try to keep your high side pressure around 2 to 2 1/2 times the ambient temp as a guide only, some retrofits might even be higher.. Make sure the clutch fan is operating properly also... I'm sure there will be more advice coming, so check back..
