Compressor application question.

70monte on Tue July 20, 2010 12:52 AM User is offline

Year: 1998
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Suburban
Engine Size: 5.7L
Refrigerant Type: r134a
Country of Origin: United States

I was looking up parts for a 1998 Suburban with rear air and noticed that for the compressor selection, it doesn't show the Seltec/Valeo compressor listed. Does this compressor not work for a suburban for some reason? I thought the trucks, tahoes, and subs of this year all used the same compressors. Thanks

Send an e-mail to Jack or Tim and ask them. I used the seltic on my Jimmy and it's still going strong after three or four years, can't remember.. anyway it gets a lot of use and I highly recommend it. They might list it on their page under all of the applications, but it is the same as the one you have..

I will contact them. I used the Seltec compressor on both of my 98 Chevy trucks with no problems. One of them has been on the truck for about two years with no problems. Thanks.

Well, I just answered my own question. The Sub is actually a 99 and they had the Seltec compressor listed under the 99 model so I guess it will work. Probably just an oversite on not having it listed under the 98 model.
