Could anyone please tell me the function of the adjustable Allen set screw on the ports end of the V7 compressor on my 2003 Chevy s-10 Pickup with a 2.2 L 4 cylinder engine?
Thanks,

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
GM Tech,
Thanks for the interest. The link to the picture is below. In the picture I've placed a red circle around the allen set screw item.

Thats the high pressure reliefe valve. It is designed to vent refrigerant if the head pressures are crazy high. No adjustment for it.
Agreed it is a relief valve.
