Alternate compressor for VW Eurovan/Rialta

Year: 2000
Make: VW/Winnebago
Model: Eurovan/Rialta
Engine Size: V6/2.8L
Refrigerant Type: R134
Ambient Temp: 90
Pressure Low: high
Pressure High: low
Country of Origin: United States

I have a 2001 Winnebago Rialta, built on a 2000 VW Eurovan vehicle. I have approx 60K miles and drive it as daily vehicle. I have failed my 4th a/c compressor (sanden SD7V16 model 1214 variable displacement unti). Last one replaced in March 2010. Winnebago spliced in a second overhead evaporator inot the original VW single dash system. There is much discussion of problems with a/c failures on this vehicle. Each compressor replacment has included complete flush, TXV replacment and the last one I replaced the condensor.

I have been considering a redesign or replacment of the compressor with a fixed displacment unit. I have talked to an engineer at Sanden and determined the SD7H15 (4864) will fit with some hose mods, but this unit is rated only for CW rotation. My vehicle is CCW rotation. Someone recommeded a Seltec TM16HD but I am unable to find any tech specs on that unit or specific model number that will fit existing mounts. I know I will also need to to add a low pressure cycling switch to the system and am also considering a trash filter.

Any comments and recommendations on Seltec model number and source for tech info and other help on my project would be appreciated.
