AC hose

Crunch on Thu March 25, 2010 3:14 PM User is offline

Year: 93
Make: pont,
Model: grand am
Engine Size: 3.3
Refrigerant Type: reto fit R-134
Ambient Temp: 60
Pressure Low: 0
Pressure High: 0
Country of Origin: United States

Suction/discharge hose assemble rubber part leaking.
To old to get GM dealer hose.
Even no used ones at bone yards.
Murray and 4 season and carquest says hose no 56407

But it is shaped different where it goes on compressor.

The rubber hose part is what they call barrier hose.
All hose make up places say it can not be replaced and all have quit making up hoses.

Any help on where to get a replacement or the hose repaired or made up or hose repair kit?

Thanks Crunch

If you sent it to us I'm sure we can replace the hose sections for you. We build hose sets all day long here in the summer.

Thanks TRB/Tim
The picture is one that all of the aftermarket places Murray and 4 seasons and Carquest say is the replacement hose Murray part no . 56407

But it will not work or fit on the 93 grand am 3.3 engine.
The suction pipe is 1-2 in to long and the high side pipe from compressor goes up.
The one I have the high pressure pipe comes straight out back of compressor and then hose loops around rad fan and goes to right side of condenser.

I have found a Bone yard with some about 10 cars with the hose assemble I need but do not like using used hosed hose.
Will let the customer decide if he wants to goes with used hose assemble.

Nice to know you can make it up.
For some reason all places that used to make up hose in my part of county have quit making them up for some reason.
Can you give me a estimate of making up hose if I send it to you.

Thanks Crunch

Replacing a section of hose and the few welds & fittings should not cost that much. Parts & labor maybe around $ 40.00 dollars plus the freight charges.
