2000 Chevy Metro.....O-tube or Expansion Valve?

Rooftop-Special on Wed July 23, 2008 4:05 PM User is offline

Year: 2000
Make: Chevy
Model: Metro
Engine Size: 1.3
Refrigerant Type: 134a

Hello Everyone,

I just found this great sight. Wanted to say thanks and ask a few questions.

I'm trying to find out if my car has and O-tube or an Expansion Valve. I seem to find both available for my car on autozone/checker, etc.

Im pretty sure it's an expansion valve.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Casey

easiest way to tell is if the drier is on the high side, it's an expansion valve system, if the accumulator is on the low side (suction) between the evap and compressor it's an O tube system. Hope this helps..

It is definitely a TXV system. I had a 2000 Geo. Got rid of it because evry time I needed to pass some one I had to send a telegram first. I have the full factory service manual if you're interested.

Yeah, I'm interested. I plan to keep the car for a while with gas prices the way they are. What's your phone #?

Thanks,

Casey

P.S. Thanks for the help
