Flushing techniques

Hi

I'm rebuilding the AC on a 69 Camaro. Compressor is being rebuilt and new hoses have been purchased along with a new drier.

It barely worked before I pulled it apart and I believe it was converted to 134. I'm planning on flushing to remove the unknown oil in the system.

Can I flush the evaporator through the POA and expansion valve or do I need to take them off?

Also, what's the best flushing solution to remove the oils from the evaporator and condenser?

Ed

No, you need to remove the POA and expansion device and clean it another way. You cannot flow any solvent volume thru such device, and you cannot flow enough air thru it to be able to evaporate (dry out) the solvent.

The best solvent for unknown refrigerant oils is SAFE-FLUSH A/C; available from this sites sponsor here...
