84 K10

Post by vht »

New to this forum, worked on cars all my life but never really liked A/C. Thought maybe you may be able to help me, I'm redoing a 84 K10 I bought. It has a bad 350 in it so I'm putting a rebuilt 454 I have in it. It's got factory air right now, I think the radial compressor is leaking, so that'll have to be replaced. You can shoot some 134 in it and it'll cool, so says the guy I bought it from, but it leaks right out. Has anyone switched over 1 of these systems to a BBC? I guess I'll need all the brackets. Any other info I should know? I know I'll have to flush it and get a 134 adapter kit or whatever you call it. Any help would be appreciated, my wife will really appreciate it this summer.

BBC...big block chevy? He did say it was a 350 being switched out to a 454.
I bought a can of freon at supermart. It had dye, oil, and stop leak in it. It also came with a hose and a gauge. Now I'm an ac professional!!!
