POA Valve test with results

Post by Emdoller »

I just finished testing 2 POA valves one that's NOS and another that's been used.

When I tested the used one, I slowly cranked up the pressure on the inlet and when It swung past 30lbs to about 40 or so ( wasn't paying attention to the exact point) I heard a pop and a went back to 30 lbs and stayed there. I could repeat it over and over with the same results.

On the NOS valve, as I turned up the pressure it would stop right at 30lbs with no POP sound. Or it was so low I couldn't hear it. I did it several times with the same result.

Is the NOS POA working correctly?

Thanks!

The new one is working fine. The other may be sticking. Sometimes they can be brought back to life by pouring oil in them and letting them sit.

Thanks. I thought it was the other way around as I was taught that you needed to hear the pop.

Thanks!!
