GPD R4 scroll

Post by 71403 »

Local parts house mentioned some GPD-branded R4 compressors are now a scroll design in the same R4 package. Haven't had one here yet.

Would be nice to have a drop-in R4 replacement curious if anyone has tried one yet.

Oh boy this will be great. I can hear it now...

"Why won't my Tahoe cool!?!?!"

Looks like the guts out of a TRS90 shimmed up in an R4 case.

The Trailblazer cooling with a TRSA105 scroll was great over 30 mph and barely acceptable at idle.
The TRSA90 is aprox 15 % less displacement, so the drive ratio is the final solution.

Yeah, and I don't see an 11 inch crankshaft pulley shipping with the compressor...
