Oil for all new components

Post by Picflight »

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 5.2

Installed new evaporator, accumulator, compressor and condenser with new lines. The whole system is new.

The service manual for this Jeep says that oil was only added to the compressor when new. Do I need to add oil to any other parts or just ensure the compressor has the required 7.75 oz of ND8 oil before I perform a vacuum test and fill with 28 oz of R134a?

The general word here is to never trust the oil in a new compressor. New vehicles assembled put all the oil in the compressor so you could do that or a majority of that and spread the rest around.
