Re: Barrier Hose and Barb Fitting Components

Don't sweat it Tim.

To put this in context, when I made those original posts, it was from a computer running Windows NT service pack 3. Probably still a 486.

Re: Specs for Compressor - Calsonic 73111FA132 AND discussion on substitutions for Subaru Ej25/22

Ok, I will try to hit two posts worth of questions here. Enough power? Well Ford used the FS10 virtually everywhere for years. That would include the 1992 - 2002 Ford Escort with the 2.0L engine. Axial means along the shaft axis of the compressor The Sanden compressor is available in dozens of confi...

Re: Barrier Hose and Barb Fitting Components

That post was 7 years ago. Sadly, several server moves, the photobucket debacle and general entropy have erased a lot of 15+ year old information in the automotive world. Including all of the pictures in that post from 17 years ago. The short answer is to use new parts where ever possible. The evapo...

Looks like you don't have a lot of axial space for the compressor The site sponsor has (or can get) most anything in the A/C world. Maintaining a catalog that large is a daunting task. Here is the direct mount SD7h15, also available in a serpentine belt: https://www.ackits.com/comp-flx7-4419-pag-dir...

Re: Adding high pressure switch to older unit help.

Nice. Your GM in depth knowledge is awesome. I think one reason we see these fan switch threads over & over is because there is not a surplus of sensor ports available on the average system Trinary switches are the usual request, because the poster wants to add function without opening the syste...

Re: Best way to start/structure a custom system design topic?

A few things to think about when you start a new thread for a specific problem. The title is the searchable part of the thread. So if you want to make the information useful to someone with your same problem, and or vehicle - put it in the title. For Example: "1986 VW Vanagon custom system desi...

Re: Specs for Compressor - Calsonic 73111FA132

That Calsonic is a direct mount pump, with a very flat base. There are adapter plates on the market to mount the ear type compressors on the flat surface of the old tecumseh base. The other choice would be a direct mount compressor on an adapter plate of some sort. Some fabrication will be required....

Re: Adding high pressure switch to older unit help.

Good to see you GM Tech. I totally agree with you on the relay for any fan. As for as spinning them at 60 mph, they are spinning already, and draw almost nothing. Maybe you know the answer to this. With the wide assortment of switches GM used in the head of the A6, is there anything that would work ...
