Re: 1234yf operating pressures
Tbird: I just fixed two towable light towers for a local HVAC contractor. He has a dozen or so 22k Btu Denso spot coolers in the warehouse. They started doing the 10pm start for commercial stuff some time ago. When you tell the HOA president he can wait two weeks or we can be there tonight at 1am th...

Re: 1234yf operating pressures
Tim: Some of our HVAC techs here are working Midnight to 10am. With a huge percentage of units mounted outside on roofs they just can't take the heat. Attic mounted systems around here are less common, but universally hated by the service techs. You say your unit is new - er? That must have been a f...

Re: Can I drive on the highway without a condenser fan?
Nice, NiMh hybrids getting the job done for 20+ years Not a surprise that there is no support on the fan. As I recall thy only made about 14,000 of those first generation cars over a 7 year period The good news is that electric OEM fans have improved quite a bit in the last 20 years. Honda used what...

Re: 1234yf operating pressures
According to Honeywell 1234Yf has a P/T curve that closely matches the curve of 134a.
Initially the idea was to make it interchangeable with 134a, so your TXV should be fine.
Perhaps the system is a bit overcharged? Are you weighing small cans?

Re: Can I drive on the highway without a condenser fan?
Car has a TRS 090 type compressor. Blow that up and you will be replacing a condenser as well.
Just roll the window down and get the parts.
I still want to know how many miles you have on a first generation hybrid.

Re: Can I drive on the highway without a condenser fan?
Wow. A ZE1 still on the road. How many miles do you have on it? I don't know what Honda used for a compressor on that car, but given the low production numbers and age of the car I think I would treat the rest of the system gently. Since you have no way to watch the high side pressure while driving ...

Re: 2006 mercury ac pressurs high
There should be a cooling fan Relay as well as the control module.
(insert rant here about engineers adding solid state modules where a relay will do just fine)

Re: How much damage did I do?
Before you recover the system, inspect all of the connections for oil leaks. If the O rings on the control valve are leaking, others may be as well. Rent or borrow a sniffer if you can, and check everything while there is still refrigerant pressure in the system. The rest of the repair you have alre...
