Re: High Pres Line Splice

I have aluminum line on the high pressure side and need to attach two tubes together. Can I use the flare fitting parts, which are brass, to connect two aluminum pipes to make one? I use these on copper tubing all the time for propane, but propane is typically very low pressure after the regulator,...

Re: Compressor relief valve diagnosis

In today's World to use the internet for information and then go google shopping for price. I get calls every day where someone wants 30 minutes of your time to goggle shop. I try and be respectful overall. It gets frustrating as you like to help but takes away from real customers. Can't keep track...

Re: Strange PSI's in AC system, no cold AC

On my 1998 Frontier, last summer my AC clutch was slipping sometimes. There were two shim washers under the drive plate, so I removed the thinner of the two, then re-installed the AC clutch drive plate and that will make the AC clutch "gap" narrower (yet not so narrow that it scrapes in th...

Re: New member needs advice from the AC experts. :)

Cusser: The uninformed simply have no idea of the scale of the refrigerant business. Refrigerant is mostly recycled - well except for driveway pirate mechanics that vent it. My experience - which is small - is that automotive shops will credit one for the amount of refrigerant (either R-12 or R134a...

Re: New member needs advice from the AC experts. :)

You might still be able to buy r12, but its time is limited. Very limited. Read your usa “clean air act” and you’ll see that production is banned. Cfc’s by 2015, hfc’s by 2030 Production is/will be banned, but there is still more than enough to go around. There's actually plenty of R-12, as few old...

Re: Minimum compressor RPM

I think you need to bump up the idle 200 rpm when the AC is on. You might need to rig up a mount for a solenoid of some sort, install a solenoid to the throttle arm. When you kick on the A/C, it will boost RPM at any rate you adjust the solenoid in the bracket to. Solenoid should be easily found at ...

Re: Strange PSI's in AC system, no cold AC

For my 1988 Mazda truck's Sanden compressor, the Autozone loaner tool did not fit either, I made my own tool for this. details and picture are here http://www.mazdatrucking.com/forum/showthread.php/13282-Sanden-708-on-truck-AC-clutch-or-clutch-bearing-replacement For my 1998 Frontier I screwed in th...

Re: Strange PSI's in AC system, no cold AC

The plate will come off without touching the belt. The plate floats on the compressor shaft, the pulley rides on a double row idler bearing pressed on the case of the compressor. Woahhh! This is such great news, Bo!! All of a sudden my job became so much easier! Thanks, Man!! (will report back) On ...
