Overcharged? Airflow across the condenser? Non condensables Was the compressor new or rebuilt? What was the clutch gap on replacement comprtessor? OIl in system and how much?

Re: 1991 Mercedes R12 Troubleshooting
I did not read where it was suggested to add stop leak. Dye is "colored oil". Check your evaporator carefully for leaks. A good place is to check the drain hose with a sniffer. Also, place a shower cap around the front of the compressor and place the sniffer into the shower cap after sitti...

Re: Ford E6DH compressor
one thing stuck out of your plans. You were going to vacuum the system to see if it holds and then open it. Do not open a system while under a vacuum as it will draw moisture into the system. Instead, put some refrigerant or better yet, N2 if you have it then open the system.

Re: High Pressure Mystery
After you spray the condenser with a hose and find that the high side drops like a rock, check to see if the fans are turning in the proper rotation. Also see if there is air flow going thru the condenser and radiator. Definitely appears to be a condenser air flow problem. This would not be the firs...

Re: Refrigerant not being pulled in - please advise
Sounds as if the low side hose connector is not connected into the system. Remove the gauges and bleed them. Make sure the hand wheels are closed. Connect the low side to the system. Do you have pressure? You should see a static pressure.

Re: A slightly differnt A/C system
It may require less refrigerant because of the fact that when you're flying, you are so much higher and the altitude effects the refrigerant charge. Do you have the system's specs and did you weigh the charge? Also, I have 30 pounder drums of virgin R12.

Re: GM R4 Compressor - New Scroll Design. Better than Piston Type ?
Every scroll I have run or seen on current vehicles have a need for speed- every one of their owners complain of no cooling at idle. Suction pressure is in the 60s at idle- will drop to 30s at 3500 erpm. Wouldn't the fact that the pulley on the scroll is smaller eliminate the high rpm requirement?

Re: A6 compressor oil port
Refrigerant will be expelled and oil if opened under pressure. You will have to recover the refrigerant.

Re: Clutch Won't Engage
You need to verify clutch engages with 12v at the compressor. You may have too wide a clutch gap. Trace the wire from clutch backward to see where 12v drops off if that is the case. It would help if you could post wiring diagram.
