Re: 1996 Cadillac Seville new AC question

Caddy's are a different animal-- Their algorithm detects loss of refrigerant by monitoring pressures AND inline temperatures before and after the orifice tube. So they know when you are losing charge and hence the very low refrigerant message-- Believe that message- it is doing its job-- Face it, yo...

Re: AC machine vacuum hose identification

I've made my own before- just get rubber hose at auto parts store- right O.D. and slice off pieces- pretty easy and you'll have plenty of spares. They are called rubber seals or inserts.

Re: 1995 lumina 3.1 vin m

If indeed this is a Olds "W" car sedan or perhaps a Chevy Lumina SUV "U-van" then the condenser fan "waits" until it sees 175psi pressure on the a/c high side outlet pipe to turn on the fan. Why run the fan if not needed? is the logic... Going down the road even on a ho...

Re: Need a/c clutch coil removal help!

If there is no snap ring, then your coil is pressed fit onto the aluminum snout. Use two screwdrivers to pry it off with a rocking back and forth motion. To re-install use an arbor press, or tap it into place with a ball-peen hammer and punch.

Re: 2003Envoy XL Dual AC 4.2L Weak Cooling

65% of mobile a/c complaints are due to lack of cooling due to loss of refrigerant......put that in your pipe and smoke it!

This is from my 5200 car database....

Re: Oil Balance Question

If it makes you feel any better- just know that absolutely every automotive compressor built was installed in its vehicle home with the entire system charge amount of oil in its belly! So I'm not a big fan of oil distribution upon repairs. I worked for Delphi for 30 years and have been in every N. A...

Re: Jeep Liberty AC Compressor question

It is not the engine warming that does it so much as the coil warming--the resistance has to increase and the windings get warm- both by engine heat and more so by electrical resistance...

Re: Jeep Liberty AC Compressor question

This is a real common scenario- seen it numerous times. Clutch air gap has worn too wide such that the magnetic pull of the coil cannot pull in clutch driver after the coil warms- and electrical resistance increases. To prove this, next time it "should be running" tap on front of clutch wi...
